Driver for Italy's first native professional
Maker:
Luigi Prette
, Merano, Italy Date: 1925
A fine persimmon-headed driver stamped for Luigi Prette, the first native-born Italian golf professional, with “L Prette Merano Kabersee Italy” on the head. It has a fibre slip attached by three hickory dowels. The head was probably made by Forgan with the shaft added in Italy as it bears no Forgan stamp.
Said hickory shaft is through-soled, straight and undamaged and topped with a black polished leather grip.
A club in excellent original condition which would make a fine object to display but it would also be a nice touch to win the Italian Hickory Open using it.
Price $290.00 Reference: D415
