"Nuts and Bolts" golf sculpture
Date: 1985
A steel sculpture from nuts and bolts of a golfer at the at the top of his backswing (a bit unorthodox with the left arm bent and the left heel raised and the club in such a position any golf coach will be reaching for a welding iron!) That said, I have seen a few sculptures of this type and this is my favourite, I think because of the nut on top of his head as a bunnet.
I have had it for about thirty years but I don’t know how old it was when I bought it and if it’s a one-off piece or one of many. I cannot find one the same on the internet nor are there any identifying marks on the sculpture or the box it came in.
He stands 16.5cm tall and there is plenty room on the circular steel base were for an inscription were it to be used as a club prize.
