Clubmakers James Burns Falkirk Jimmy Burns began his golfing career as assitant to John Duncan at Stirling then was professional at Falkirk Tryst between 1908 and 1914. He enlisted in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders as a private in September 1914 and was in France from September of that year. Aged 25, he was killed in action on 23 April 1917.
