Clubmakers F H Ayres London One of the first companies in Britain to sell Schenectady putters with their own version, the Tru Putt, having a fibre face. Also known for the Vaile swan-neck aluminium putter. They started off selling sporting goods as early as 1810 and added golf clubs to their line in the mid-1880s. At the Fifth International Golf Traders' Exhibition at Hoylake in 1913 they were promoting Deltoid clubs, designed and invented by Mr F Cheshire, which they claim 'are the only really scientifically constructed and balance heads on the market'. They were also showing Trusite irons developed by Ralph Smith. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
