H D Drummond
South Africa/Aberdeen
H D Drummond Henry David Drummond was born in St Andrews in 1887 and served an apprenticeship as a clubmaker with Tom Morris.

His career began as an assistant professional in Stonehaven then in 1914 he emigrated to South Africa to become the professional at Kimberley.

He gave up this post in 1921 apparently because of his wife’s health and returned to Scotland as professional at Pitreavie in Dunfermline. In 1925 he took over from his brother Tom, becoming a private professional and clubmaker on the Aberdeen Corporation Links.

He died in Aberdeen aged 44 in March 1931 after ‘not enjoying the best of health for some time’.
