From the records, J E Lumb was professional at the Ryburn club close to Sowerby Bridge near Halifax in the mid-1920s but I have an earlier club (ca 1908-1910) marked "Sowerby Bridge". This suggests he may have been a clubmaker and/or retailer in the area before becoming professional to the local gofl club.
