Arthur Mitchell
St Leonards/ Bexhill
Cousin to Abe Mitchell and older brother to Albert killed in the First World War.

Jackson’s Register lists him as professional at Highfield Lodge around 1901 which I cannot confirm.

Without doubt is his time at the St Leonard’s club on the outskirts of Hastings from 1903-1920.

He played many exhibition games at the Nevill Club where his late brother had been professional with Abe Mitchell or with Charles Whitcombe.

He moved from Hastings to Bexhill where he served from 1920 until the advent of the Second World War, with his son, Arthur jnr, as his assistant at the end of the 1930s.
