Clubmakers Charles Spinks Edinburgh A clubmaker from Balerno who was awarded a patent in 1894 for a club removing the distinction between driver and brassie. Instead of a slip or a soleplate this club screwed a piece of metal (brass, steel or iron) where the slip was usually attached by three hickory dowels. He was also the patent holder for a socket-wood in 1895 where the joint was held in place with a brass ring. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
