Martin and Kirkaldy
A "proper" juvenile iron (i.e. a smaller head and a custom-made rather than cut down adult shaft) from a respected Edinburgh clubmaking firm. Enclosed hyphen face with reverse of head marked "Martin & Kirkaldy Ld", in script, "Edinburgh", "Juvenile Iron" and. "Warranted hand forged". A good hickory shaft, slightly bowed, topped with a black rubberised grip which looks original although one would usually associate it with clubs from the 1920s.
The Kirkaldy in the name is the famous Andrew Kirkaldy, honorary professional to the R&A until his death in 1934 and master of the bon (or not so bon) mot.
