A rather nice Tom Stewart iron sent out to Egypt for the pioneer of golf there, James L Hastie of Dunbar. The reverse of the head is marked with Tom Stewart’s pipe cleekmark and the post-1905 trademark wording, “Special Hand Forged in Scotland”, “J L Hastie Ghezira Cairo” and “4 Iron”.

The face has a somewhat eccentric enclosed dot pattern.

The hickory shaft is straight and the black leather grip original
