Scareneck driver
Maker:
David Anderson and Sons
, St Andrews Date: 1907
A good all-original ladies'scareneck driver, so everything slightly shorter, thinner and finer than on a man's club, from this historic St Andrews workshop.
"D Anderson & Sons St Andrews" in an oval on the crown above "Special" are all picked out in gold paint.
The sole has a fibre slip, secured by three hickory dowels, to protect the clubhead.
A thin, elegant scare joins the head to a good hickory shaft which carries the original sheepskin grip.
A well played-with example of a famous clubmaker's best work
