Antique Golf Clubs from Scotland
Catalogue
Toledo jigger
Maker: J H Andrew & Co , Sheffield
Date: 1912

J H Andrew & Co made knives and forks in Sheffield, then the world's largest producer of cutlery and used some of the rustless alloys from this manufacture for golf clubs. This is a nice-looking, small-headed jigger with an enclosed hyphen face,

The reverse is marked "Warranted Forged", "J H Andrew & Co Sheffield", "Rustless Iron" and "Jigger". There is also a somewhat worn mark of a cutlass with the word "Toledo" within it, below which is stamped "Trade Mark", this being the alloy used for the clubhead.

A good straight hickory shaft carries the original black grip somewhat gnarled from heat over the years.

Price $135.00
