Diamond-back mashie
Maker: William Gibson , Kinghorn
Date: 1910

A diamond back mashie (to concentrate weight behind the sweetspot) from the Kinghorn factory of William Gibson. At the time this club was made, Gibson was on the way to becoming the world's largest producer of clubs. The diamond back has Gibson's larger (post 1905) star cleekmark in the middle and "William Gibson & Co Ltd Kinghorn" towards the toe in an oval. The head is also stamped "Hand Forged", "Special" and "Mashie". The club has a dashed face within decorative bars.

A straight hickory shaft is finished with a replacement soft burgundy leather grip.
