Maxwell mashie niblick for Hazelhurst

A broad-soled mashie niblick forged by Anderson of Anstruther for Ernest Hazelhurst at the Windermere club in the heart of Wordsworth country. It has a Maxwell hosel (drilled holes to reduce weight), in this case with the eleven hole configuration. The face has an enclosed dot face and the reverse is stamped with Anderson's arrow, "Maxwell Mashie Niblick", "Warranted Handforged" (in oval form) and "E Hazelhurst Windermere" within an oval. Hazelhurst was professional at this club from 1912 until the 1930s.
The hickory shaft is straight and carries a replacement sheepskin grip.
