Winton 1 Iron

A one iron stamped for David Cobb at Greenock. Cobb was born in Montrose had been an assistant there so had turned to his home town for the forging of his irons. The diamond cleekmark on the reverse of the head identifies it as being forged by Winton, a well-known Montrose, and later London, maker. Also stamped "Hand Forged", "1 Iron", "Rustless" and "Special". The clubface has a rather erratic enclosed hyphen pattern. Good quality hickory shaft and the original smooth, black leather grip.
