Open Championship 1886: Musselburgh
A last-minute entrant, David Brown, a local tradesman, won over his home links with a then record score for Musselburgh of 157. Although he went on to become a professional in the United States, and runner-up in the US Open, like another Open Champion, Jamie Anderson, he finished his days in the Poor House, a couple of miles from the scene of his greatest triumph. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
