Open Championship 1866: Prestwick
The Championship, although still held at Prestwick, was now a St Andrews vs Musselburgh affair, and to boost the small numbers travelling the 'great distance', the 'gentleman golfers of Musselburgh and Edinburgh' drew up a subscription list to pay part of the travelling expenses of their best local hopes. It was a Musselburgh victory. Willie Park won again with his brother, David, the runner-up. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
