Alfred Bonner
Bulwell Forest
Born in Bottesford, Leicestershire in 1891, Alf Bonner was the son of the stationmaster at Bulwell Forest and served his apprenticeship there as assitant to Walter Tedder. He took over as professional when Tedder left in 1910.

He was killed in action in the First World War on 25 June 1917 serving as a private with the Sherwood Foresters (12th Battalion Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
