Clubmakers George Bisset Carnoustie/Metis Beach George Bisset served his apprenticeship as a clubmaker with Robert Simpson in his home town of Carnoustie. He went to Canada in 1925 where he was assistant to another famous name in Carnoustie clubmaking, James Gourlay, at the Islesmere club in Montréal.
