Clubmakers Willie Lowe Buxton Brother of George Lowe and Dave Lowe, three brothers who all followed a professional golfing career in England despite the fact their father did not play a round of Carnoustie links until he was 73 years old. William George Low was born in Carnoustie in 1872 and emigrated to Australia, whether as a professional golfer or otherwise I do not know. In any event it did not work out for him and he returned to England to become professional at the Buxton and High Peak club in Derbyshire in 1894. That same year he designed the Chevin course in Derbyshire and later the Ashbourne club’s course. He died in 1915. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
