Clubmakers William S Law Aberdeen/Amagansett etc William S Law was born in Newhills in Aberdeen and began his career as an apprentice engineer in Manchester. He emigrated to the United States and became professional at Amagansett, New York in 1924. In 1926 he moved to the Bass Rock Club in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He made the local Aberdeen news in 1931 by proposing via radio to a girl he had met on a visit home the previous year. She accepted and they married at the Gloucester club in May 1931.
