Clubmakers Leslie Cottrell Wakefield (USA) Born in 1902, so too young to have served in WWI where three of his brothers, Harry, Albert and William all golf professionals, were killed, Leslie emigrated to the United States in 1924. He became professional at Winchester in Massachusetts and from around 1928 until at least 1939, when the clubhouse was destroyed in a fire, was at the Bear Lake club in Wakefield, MA. He served on the Educational Committee of the PGA in the 1930s and was President of the New England section of the PGA in 1937. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
