J W Moore
Harwich/Redhill
John William Moore was born in Greenwich in 1867 and came to the ranks of professionals quite late in life, starting as assistant to Maitland Walker at Barton in Sea in 1903 or 1904 although Peter Georgiady records him as working with George Brews at Royal Blackheath and as foreman in Peter Paxton's clubmaking shop in Tooting Bec.

He became full professional at the North Hants club in 1904 and moved on to Harwich and Dovercourt two years later. 1907 saw a move eastwards to Redhill and Reigate where he remained until 1910. He moved then to Copt Heath in the Midlands where he was professional until 1919 before returning south to a post at Wimbledon Common.

He also appears to have been professional at West Hove in 1913.
