A wholesaler in London with a specialist golf department run by Bob Munro from Arbroath who worked for many years as a clubmaker starting with Robert Simpson in Carnoustie.

He shared his time as professional at a number of famous clubs (including Royal Mid Surrey, Chislehurst and Wimbledon) and beginning at Tooting Bec in 1892, with posts at AG Spalding & Co, Selfridges and, after service in the First World War, Alexander.
