Sydney Fairweather
Belfast
Sydney Fairweather was born in Monifieth, by Dundee, in 1900 but spent his time as a golfing professional across the Irish sea at the Malone club in Belfast from 1922 until 1942. After a further three years as professional at the Clandeboye club he retired in 1945 (though this did not prevent him winning his 10th Ulster professional title in 1948). He holds the unusual distinction of playing for Ireland in international matches against Scotland and England in 1932 and then, later, being chosen for Scotland to play against England, Ireland and Wales.

He was Irisjh professional champion from 1926-1932. He died on 4 April 1956.
