Clubmakers George Croll Montrose Geordie Croll seems to have worked on his own as a clubmaker in Montrose without being a professional. He may have been specifically a clubmaker to one or more of the Montrose clubs as the Montrose Review of 1891 records a clubhead of his being buried in a time capsule of sorts as part of the foundation stone of the Golf Lodge which was laid in that year. He was certainly a member of the Mercantile club as his name appears as winner of several club competitions around the turn of the twentieth century. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
