Albert Tingey Jnr
Frinton
Born in Brancaster where his father of the same name was pro to Royal West Norfolk between 1892 and 1897. He began as assistant at Woodcote but his career was interrupted by military service from 1914 until 1919 when, with Charles Mayo, he was instrumental in setting up the Niblick Brigade, bachelor golf professionals, principally assistants, who volunteered for the Great War and fought together in the Rifle Brigade.
He returned to a professional's post at South Bedfordshire and, in 1921, took over from his father at Frinton where he remained until 1956.
