Benjamin N Campbell
Musselburgh
Ben, born 3 May 1865, in Musselburgh, was a professional, with his elder brother Willie at North Berwick in the mid-1880s. Later he was pro at the now defunct Bridge of Weir club in Renfrewshire from 1889-92. He played in the Open Championship regularly from 1883 and finished third when it was held n Musselburgh in 1886.

He returned to Musselburgh from Renfrewshire and worked as a professional there and in North Berwick. He played in the inaugural pro competitions at Luffness in 1894 and in North Berwick the following year. He died in Musselburgh in 1908 at the age of 43.
