Clubmakers William Cunningham Edinburgh William Cunningham was born in Edinburgh in 1872 and ran a successful ball and clubmaking business in Leven Street in the Capital. I don't know where he learned his trade but he first appears as a clubmaker in the Edinburgh Post Office Directory of 1894. The firm was well known for their later dreadnought drivers. He died in 1938. He also produced his own golf balls, the Universal Blue Dot being offered in 1908 at 1s 6d each, 'a perfect treat'. Search the catalogue for clubs by this maker | |
