R M Wilson

Robert McEwen Wilson was born in Colmonell in Ayrshire in 1881, a son of Alexander Wilson, a law clerk, and his wife Maggie Dell Wilson née McEwen.

He was pro at Oban, 1906-1907 before moving to England's West Country, first Yeovil and Somerset, then West Wiltshire. He is listed on the 1911 census as a golf professional and clubmaker living at 4 Elm Hill in Warminster with his wife, Annabella (née Stratton), a young son and daughter and his mother-in-law, Also in the household is his assistant, his younger brother, John.

After the war he was at Wembley and Tooting Bec in London.
