Clubmakers John Butchart Carnoustie Made clubs under his own name in the 1880s, notably between 1880 and 1882 when he was professional to the London Scottish club. Returning to Carnoustie he later worked for Robert Simpson. Listed in the Arbroath Yearbook for 1891 as a clubmaker in Panmure Terrace, Carnoustie. Father of the more-famous clubmaker Cuthbert Butchart who patented v-joint clubs and A W Butchart who, like his brother, was a much travelled professional.
