William Robert Hamlet
Atherstone
Born in Sunninghill, Windsor in 1877, Robert William Hamlet was professional at Atherstone from 1897 until his death on 3 November 1925 ‘upon a chill contracted whilst playing golf a few days ago’.
The following October George Duncan, Abe Mitchell, A G Havers and George Gadd were playing exhibition matches over Finham Mark, Coventry, with all of the proceeds going to Hamlet's widow and children.
