Left-handed Cooper's Hyphenstock
Maker:
Cooper Brothers
, Haslemere Date: 1915
M J Cooper was granted a patent for this design in 1913 although, from examining the club, it is not clear what was unique about the form, perhaps the way the head is joined to the shaft. The patent information is stamped on the putter head: "Cooper's Hyphenstock Reg. Pat. No. 15892". From the side on which this is stamped, and the bend of the head, this appears to be a left-handed model. Below the head is a long (2") brass ferrule/hosel pinning the head to the stick. The shaft itself is 32.5" long and is protected at the end by a brass tip.
