An excellent all-original iron from the end of the hickory era when numbered irons started to replace the old names. The face has an enclosed dot pattern and the reverse, with immaculate stampings, says "No 4", "J C Smith & Sons" (in script) "Monifieth", "Rustless" and "Made in Scotland".

The good straight hickory shaft is also stamped "Special" with "J C Smith & Sons Monifieth" in an oval. This is also picked out in white on the smooth black leather grip.
