Alexander Nielson
Edinburgh
Alexander Neilson was born in Edinburgh in 1752, son of another clubmaker, Robert Neilson (1719-1767).

An advertisement for a property sale in the Caledonian Mercury of 19 January 1782 identifies his home as being at the foot of Leith Walk, fronting the Coach-road to Edinburgh by the Canongate.

There is an iron putter (extremely rare for the 18th century) with a 7” hosel bearing his name in the World Golf Museum in Pinehurst.
