Percy G Wyatt
Herne Bay
Percy Wyatt began his professional career at Herne Bay sometime around the turn of the twentieth century. He qualified for, and played in, the Open Championship at St Andrews in 1905. In 1907, when the course was extended, he played over it in a challenge match with Harry Vardon, Tom Vardon and James Braid, He remained there until 1908. In that year he took up the professional's post at Whetstone with the North Middlesex club. He remained here through the war years and then moved to Arkley in 1919 or 1920 for a two year spell and from where he played in the 1922 Open.

He finished his career at Bush Hill Park where he went in 1922 and remained until at least the mid-1930s. During that time he played in the Open Championship in 1924, partnering Walter Hagen in the first round.
